Baldness occurs due to clogging of hair follicles caused by genetic factors, age, stress, over exposure to dust and sun, health disorders, or because of chemotherapy treatment for cancer. 12 Home Remedies to Treat Baldness

While there are several hair loss treatments available in the market, they can be quite expensive and are not affordable for everybody. However, here are some natural remedies that can treat baldness without any of those awful side effects:

1. Castor Oil

Castor oil works wonders on hair growth and can drastically improve your hair condition. The oil is rich in proteins, minerals, and vitamin-E. It also has several anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help clear infections related to scalp and skin. This improves circulation of blood to hair follicles, nourishing the hair roots, making your hair stronger and longer without any breakage. It is advisable you use unrefined castor oil as it contains more nutrients that you can benefit from.

Because of the oil’s viscous consistency, it needs to be mixed with lighter oils, such as almond oil, olive oil and jojoba oil, so it spreads evenly throughout the hair. For a castor oil hot treatment, heat castor oil for a few minutes and then apply it to your scalp. Use your fingers to massage the oil for a few minutes to stimulate hair growth. Allow the oil to sit overnight. It is best your cover your hair with a plastic shower cap. The next morning, wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and repeat regularly for better results.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a magical ingredient that contains an array of vitamins and minerals that promote hair growth. The enzymes and chemical compounds present in aloe vera opens up clogged hair follicles, reducing the risk of hair loss. Aloe Vera also has several anti-parasitic properties that reduce and help clear scalp infections. To stop baldness, discard the gel out from an aloe vera leaf and massage it onto your scalp for several minutes. Allow the gel to sit overnight and rinse it off using lukewarm water the next day. Repeat this remedy about 3-4 times a week for good results.

3. Yogurt

Yogurt is a natural conditioner that not only nourishes hair but also cures baldness and hair fall. Being a protein rich food, yogurt is great for hair follicles and prevents hair fall. Simply apply the yogurt on your hair like a mask. Use your fingers to massage it onto your scalp, letting it rest for at least 15 minutes. You may also leave it on your hair overnight and cover it with a shower cap for best results. Rinse it off the next day with lukewarm water. To promote hair growth, consume a cup of yogurt every day.

4. Coconut Oil

Apart from cooking, coconut oil is natural remedy for treating baldness. Simply dab some coconut oil onto your hair and let it rest overnight. Use your fingers to massage the oil as it stimulates the growth of hair follicles. You may wash off the oil next morning using shampoo.

5. Lemon Juice

You can use lemon juice to treat a range of hair problems including hair fall, dry hair, and dandruff. To combat hair loss, incorporate lemon juice with various oils and leave it on your hair for several hours. Mix one teaspoon of lemon juice with about two tablespoons of olive oil. Use this oil and apply it on your scalp to promote healthy hair growth. Additionally, lemon juice can also be used with aloe vera.  Stir the mixture well and leave it on for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes are up, use a mild shampoo to rinse your hair.

6. Coriander Leaves

Coriander leaves are a fantastic home remedy for curing baldness. All you need to do is crush some fresh coriander leaves to form a thick paste and apply it onto your hair.  You may also incorporate some lemon juice in the mixture to prevent hair loss.

7. Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are highly effective at combating baldness. For this remedy, all you need is to do is grind some fenugreek seeds into a smooth paste. Apply the fenugreek paste on your scalp, using generous amounts on the bald patches. Leave the paste on for about an hour, allowing your scalp to absorb the fenugreek paste. Use cold water to rinse your head.

8. Onion

Sulfur is an ingredient present in onions that stimulates blood circulation and treats baldness. For this remedy, simply use a blender or a grater to extract the juice from a couple of onions. You can add a little honey to add some texture to the mixture and apply it on your scalp. Onion juice is widely known for eliminating fungus and harmful bacteria from your scalp.

9. Honey

Using honey is one of the most effective methods of treating hair problems, such as baldness, dry hair, and hair loss. For this remedy simply mix a tablespoon of cinnamon powder with 2 tablespoons of honey along with 2 tablespoons of warm olive oil. Use this mix on the affected area and allow it to rest for 20 minutes. Use clean water to wash it off.

10. Mustard Oil

Mustard oil is loaded with minerals, vitamins and antioxidants that make it highly effective for treating baldness. For this remedy, all you need to do is boil a cup of mustard oil. When it turns warm, mix it with 4 tablespoons of henna. Strain the oil and apply it on your scalp, especially the bald patches. Massage it on your scalp to stimulate blood circulation.

11. Licorice Roots

Licorice root is a highly effective herb for treating baldness as it opens up pores and soothes the scalp, helping one get rid of irritations, such as dry flakes. This remedy is highly effective for treating several hair problems, such as baldness, dandruff and hair loss. For this remedy, you must mix a tablespoon of ground licorice root in a cup of milk along with a quarter teaspoon of saffron.

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients to form a paste. Apply the paste on your hair, especially the bald patches before you sleep at night. Leave it overnight and then wash your hair the next morning. Repeat this remedy at least once or thrice a week. Alternatively, you can also drink a cup of licorice tea 3 times a day.

12. Beetroot Juice

Beetroot is rich in phosphorus, vitamins B and C, calcium, proteins and carbohydrates. All these nutrients play an effective role in healthy hair growth. To benefit from this remedy, include fresh beetroot juice in your diet along with other juices that will keep your hair healthy including lettuce juice, spinach juice and carrot juice.
